The Bridges – Hull accepts applications from anyone who is:
Aged 18 and above.
Has issues with drugs and/or alcohol.
Looking to become totally substance-free and make positive changes in their life.
Owing to complexities with funding and the nature of our treatment programme, there are additional requirements that every prospective client needs to be aware of. People with dual diagnoses (both mental health and substance use issues) may need an additional assessment to ensure we can meet their needs.
We can accept clients with GP-prescribed medications, but there are exceptions which will need to be discussed thoroughly. In some cases, clients on GP prescribed medications will need to be reviewed.
People submitting applications with arson or sex offences will be considered on a case-by-case basis with the context of offending behaviour fully evaluated before a final decision is made. We take these submissions seriously and are led by our local Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) and our probation team.
If someone poses a high risk of harm to others or themselves, we may not be able to accept their application. However, we assess all cases individually before making a final decision.
Our building has limited wheelchair access, so we are unable to accommodate clients with significant mobility issues.
All offers of treatment are subject to written confirmation of funding. However, if you’re not able to secure funding from your local authority we may be able to support you through our bursary scheme.
For ex-offenders on licence, all treatment offers are subject to approval by probation.
Clients must have either already gone through detox or be able to submit a negative alcohol test before they arrive at The Bridges - Hull.
