At Way Forward – Islington, we offer peer-led activities for people who have experienced drug and/or alcohol issues. Our aim is to give service users tools and strategies to achieve their personal goals, building on strengths and gains made in their journey so far.
By signing up to Way Forward, individuals can:
Grow their sober social circle through connection and peer to peer support in a safe space.
Participate in regular events and family days in the local area and also further afield such as picnics, celebrations of recovery, bowling, football, and much more.
Receive our wellbeing newsletter.
Learn how to manage finances better through our financial resilience sessions.
Improve wellbeing and provide guidance on staying substance free.
At Way Forward, we run a range of free, online activities 6 days a week. These include:
Literacy and numeracy workshops.
12 step guidance workshops.
Mutual aid meetings.
Healthy eating and exercise groups.
Art and creative writing sessions.
Breakfast clubs.
Relapse prevention workshops.
An LGBTQIA+ group.
By signing up to Way Forward – Islington, individuals will also have access to Forward Connect, Forward’s peer-led mutual aid community of like-minded people who are making good progress in their own recovery journeys.
Where needed, we can also provide individuals with free smartphones and digital training. This can be discussed with staff members during the registration process.
We also run activities at our hub in Islington every weekend. These take place between 10am-4pm and are open to drop-ins. Individuals are invited to stay for the whole day or can come and go as they please.

A breakfast club.
Art and creative sessions.
Mutual aid meetings.
A gardening club.
Literacy and numeracy workshops.
This service is for individuals who:
Are aged 18 or over.
Live in Islington.
Have experienced issues with drugs and/or alcohol.
