What is the Restart Scheme?

Restart is a programme that helps those living in Thanet who are out of work gain valuable experience, confidence, and skills, enabling them to return to the world of work. We offer face-to-face and remote support for 12 months for those enrolled, with links to our advisors available for up to 6 months after a work placement is secured.

Access to this service includes:  

  • Careers information, advice, and guidance.
  • Help with preparing and reviewing CVs and job applications.
  • Job search support.
  • Interview preparation and practice.
  • Building confidence and resilience.
  • Direct interviews with employers.
  • Up to 6 months of voluntary in-work support from an advisor once work is secured.

The service forms part of the government’s former ‘Plan for Jobs’, helping people to secure and maintain employment in England. 

 

Who do we help?

This programme is for those who:

  • Live in Thanet. 
  • Have been unemployed and claiming universal credit for minimum of 6 months.
