The Forward Trust is proud to announce a new workshop series designed exclusively for women engaged in community drug and alcohol services.

This six-session programme, each lasting 1.5 hours, is tailored specifically to the female experience of treatment and recovery.

The series is suitable for women who are in the ENGAGE or DEVELOP stages of their treatment journey, and abstinence is not a core requirement, making the workshops accessible to women at different points in their recovery. The program includes a mandatory pre-series group to prepare participants and an optional post-series peer-led aftercare group for ongoing support.

Aims of the workshop series include:

  • An increase in women’s motivation for change.

  • Improvement to general wellbeing.

  • Support for women to reflect on their self-esteem and identity as a woman.

  • Providing a safe, women-only space to develop social networks.

This initiative provides a nurturing environment where women can connect with others who share similar experiences while focusing on personal growth and recovery.
