We’re delighted to announce that The Bridges - Hull, our residential substance misuse service in Hull, has been rated ‘Good’ overall following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), carried out between 10 and 30 June 2025.
The report highlights high standards of care, compassion and professionalism and celebrates the strong recovery-focused culture at the heart of The Bridges.

It is particularly pleasing that the CQC acknowledged our treatment approach and the positive, solution-focused partnerships we have established with healthcare and probation services.

Clients described staff as “amazing”, “really approachable” and “empowering”, praising the quality and consistency of therapy sessions and the calm, supportive atmosphere. They said they always felt safe, the building was clean, and staff promoted the core values of the treatment programme, ensuring everyone understood their recovery goals. Many found it inspiring that some members of staff had lived experience of recovery themselves.
The CQC highlighted the exceptional standards of safety, care and partnership working at The Bridges. Inspectors noted that the service works closely with clients and healthcare partners to maintain robust systems that ensure continuity of care, including when people move between different services. External partners also praised the service, with probation services describing the partnership as “positive, with operational issues swiftly resolved,” adding: “The work they do with clients is amazing.”
The Bridges delivers a comprehensive, person-centred treatment programme in line with NICE guidelines, with plans to expand trauma-informed therapy groups. The service actively gathers feedback, receiving 71 compliments between April 2024 and June 2025. One client said:
“Excellent treatment team - really good listeners, really approachable, challenged me to get to my full potential. Really empowering, caring and professional.”
The CQC found that The Bridges provides exceptional support to help people plan for life after treatment, encouraging informed, confident decision-making and empowering clients to rebuild their lives with independence and control.
