At The Forward Trust, we know that recovery, renewal, and resilience aren’t just personal, they are everything.
This year’s World Environment Day (celebrated on June 5) invites us all to be part of something bigger: restoring the land we live on, protecting the environment we depend on, and building resilience against climate change.
This year's theme 'Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience', is a powerful reminder that the health of our planet and people are deeply connected. Healthy soil grows healthy food. Green spaces nurture mental wellbeing. Trees cool our towns and clean our air.
So what does this mean for The Forward Trust?
Whether we are supporting someone’s recovery journey or creating better places to work and live, we are shaping how we interact with our environment. That is why we are inviting staff, service users, and supporters to join us in making small and practical changes that contribute to a greener, fairer world.
Today, we want to encourage all involved in Forward to:
Together, let’s restore our spaces, respect our resources, and rethink what recovery means - for people and the planet.
