Sharon has worked at The Forward Trust since 2013, having previously struggling to find sustainable employment due to her criminal record. Sharon started as a grounds maintenance operative and, after a short time, started to work on the Bulky Waste Contract between Blue Sky and the London Borough of Hillingdon.
Sharon’s duties at Bly Sky Services involve collecting fly tips, undertaking special collections (such as unwanted furniture), and delivering garden waste and recycling bags to households.
During her employment with Forward, she has obtained a full driver’s licence, which resulted in her promotion to supervisor, something Sharon is really proud of. On her career, Sharon said:
“Working at Forward has given me a sense of responsibility and renewed confidence in myself and my abilities.
“I really enjoy my work at Blue Sky, as no two days are the same and I get to meet different people all the time. Working here has given me a sense of responsibility and renewed confidence in myself and my abilities, and I feel so much happier in myself.
“I am very grateful that Forward gave me a chance to get back in to work.”
